Thailand

On the 27th of June

My trip to Thailand started super early because we had to leave for the airport at 3 a.m. Our flight left at 6 a.m., so I was already feeling tired. We stopped in Australia first, and I got to do some shopping with my dad at the duty free shops in Sydney Airport, which was pretty cool. After that, we got on another plane to Bangkok. The flight to Thailand took about 9 hours, and it felt sooo long, I was really tired by the time we finally got there.

When we arrived at our hotel we got some sleep because we were really tired. We woke up

Writting Plan

Kia ora,

These past few weeks we have been learning about how to write a speech, we read some speeches to give us an example on how we should lay ours out. We had to pick out a topic to debate about weather we agree or not.

I have chosen “Why social media is bad for kids” now don’t get me wrong I love being online and active on social media, Being update with everyone but kids are spending nearly 7 hours a day on their phones. Its starting to get to a point where nearly every kid is inside on there phones endlessly scrolling instead of being outside socializing in the real world. Its becoming a very big problem.

So that’s why I have chosen to talk about why social media is bad for kids.

Do you think social media is bad for kids?

Radical reading

Good Afternoon,

This week in reading we have been learning about Maori legends,

We learnt about Kupe and the Octopus and how it was stealing all the bait so no one on the island had any food to eat.

Kupe, his wife and his brothers sailed across the sea to fight the octopus, They ended up at the wellington harbour!

Do you like Maori legends?

Lexi and the bean stalk!

Goodmorning,

This week for reading in Totara Pod 1 we have been writing fairy tales with a modern day twist! I did lexi and the bean stalk

I kept things like the magic beans and a stalk but I had different characters etc.  I found this task very fun and interesting!

What would your modern twist be on a fairy tale?

Spend the morning with me!

In the morning I have to get up at a ridiculous time and sit in my COMFY bed that i do NOT want to leave and sit their for a good 5 min regretting my life decisions. Then I actually get out of bed and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get dressed.

After that I  go to Tamas room and yell at him for being to loud last night, then I like to sit at my vanity  and watch tiktok for at least  30 ms, then my mum will walk in and ask what sandwiches i want for lunch #lotsoflovemum, I finally decide to get ready for school at around 7:30, I put on some banger music while I do my lashes.

I normally finish getting ready around 8:00am ready for school! I grab all my stuff and im out the door!  I usually take 2 minutes to walk to school, when I get to school I greet everyone and put my stuff away.

How was your day today?

R.E

Kia ora,

These past 2 weeks we have been learning about the importance of Holy week,

We made a google drawing about the lead up to Holy week and all the events that go on in Holy week.

We learned about Passion Sunday (also known as Psalm sunday) and how it marks the first day of Holy week, after Passion sunday it leads up to Holy thursday when the last supper goes down and how Judas betrays Jesus. Then we have Good friday where Jesus is sentenced to be nailed onto the cross and how he has to walk up the hill with the cross. And finally we have Easter Sunday where Jesus rose from death and brings peace and hope to everyone.

Did you learn anything new?

Shrove Tuesday

Goodmorning,

The past two weeks we have been learning about punctuation, sentence structure, metaphors and similes. We have also been learning alot about lent and how to prepare for the fasting season,

I learned about Shrove Tuesday and its significance. I explored the traditions associated with the day, such as eating pancakes and preparing for Lent. It was interesting to learn about the history behind the celebration and how different cultures recognize it. I also discovered why pancakes are a popular choice, as they help use up ingredients like eggs, milk, and flour before the fasting period begins. This made me appreciate the meaning behind the tradition rather than just seeing it as a fun day to eat pancakes.

In addition to learning about Shrove Tuesday, I also worked on writing structure. I practiced organizing my ideas clearly and making sure my sentences flowed well. I focused on using paragraphs correctly, making sure each one had a clear topic and supporting details. I also improved my understanding of how to write introductions and conclusions effectively. This helped me feel more confident in my writing, as I now understand how to make my work clearer and more engaging for the reader.

Do you celebrate Shrove Tuesday???
